Yes: Ultrasound is the primary test for gallbladder disease (stones). An older test is an oral cholecystogram, which utilizes ingested contrast taken up by the liver, and concentrated in the gallbladder. This was used to test for gall bladder function. It has been replaced by the hida scan.
