A member asked:

Can somebody tell me how can alcohol affect the gallbladder?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Alcohol does: not damage liver directly, but it can damage liver, which, in turn, can affect gallbladder function. Also, abnormal liver functions tests can be caused by either liver or gallbladder disease, confusing the clinical picture. Alcohol in large amounts can also cause ulcers, nerve and brain damage, lots of other bad things.
