Acute traumatic: And surgical wounds are those commonly sutured. Surgical wounds need no "disinfecting" and the suture type depends on location and depth of the incision. Traumatic wounds on the other hand require jet irrigation after anesthesia to remove debris, possibly removal of devitalized tissue then closure again dependent upon location and the physician's choice of closure. Could be sutures or staples.
