A member asked:

Can you tell me what to expect with someone who has had lasik surgery with moderate to severe astigmatism?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Astigmatism ; LASIK: Astigmatism is correctable with lasik eye surgery. Very high amounts of astigmatism may not correct fully. In some instances there may be a return of part of the astigmatism during healing. In this case, a second (enhancement) procedure may be advisable. I have often times had patients tell me that they didn't think astigmatism was correctable with lasik. Often they are pleasantly surprised.
