Easy on the gut: There are many herbal preparations in the health food stores that claim to do a good job, whatever you do, avoid preparations with laxatives, and unless you are truly constipated, you really don't need enema preparations either. Your GP and/or GI doc probably have more to say about this, if you need specific advice, request a Gastroenterologist and we can arrange a consult, if you like.

Let's be honest: The best thing you can do to stay healthy is to drink plenty of water, and bottled is fine if you prefer, stay away from processed foods, eat a variety of fruit and vegetables of all colors and do eat healthy fats. Consider taking fish oil 1000mg daily. Get reasonable exercise 30" a day, 4-6 days a week. I'm not a fan of "detox cleanses." The biggest benefit is to the people selling them.

Detox ?: A "detox cleanse" is overrated for the benefits claimed, and can be harmful if overdone in frequency. Eating healthy is always beneficial. Keep alcohol and nicotine on your "avoidable" list, and exercise at least three times a week for 30-45 minutes with heart rate (at 26) reaching 160-180 per minute, keep your carbohydrates low, and you have a plan which will keep you healthy for years to come.
