Not a vitamin D prob: Your bone pain is not a sign of a mildly low vitamin d level. You should take extra vitamin d to get your level above 20-25 but what the doctor told you sounds like too much. I would suggest either 2000 units a day or 10, 000 units a week however, I do not think your bone pain will go away. If it is severe enough that you are having trouble walking you should see a doctor.

It is wise : To get your vitamin d levels within normal range but i would look for others reasons to explain your leg pain. From a podiatric point of view i would assess the biomechanics of your lower extremity. I would specifically look for excessive pronation or flatfeet.
