Eat less fat: Vegetarian doesn't necessarily mean low calories. Cooking with oil can add a lot of calories to your meals. Steaming instead of frying, or sautéing can reduce calories in your meals. Usually calories that are fat ( 9 calories per gram) are more valuable to reduce compared to carbohydrates ( 4 calories per gram).
