Need endonasal exam: Such a situation may warrant further examination. The septoplasty surgery may not have completely corrected septal deviations. But there are other significant endonasal (inside nasal cavity) structures that could effect breathing - namely the turbinate bones along the lateral endonasal wall or yes, the adenoids. Further, there is a natural nasal cycle which swells and "de-swells" the nose daily.
