Depends: This can attend a lot of issues including past history of injury, how chronic this observation is and your presentation. Also depends on what side of the ankle, you're talking about. There will be conservative care. An MRI will most likely be done first to rule out any obvious tears and how chronic it may be. If surgery is warranted , you may be looking at six weeks nonweightbearing cast.
