Ring worm: Lamisil (terbinafine) cream should be used for 4 weeks. Is over the counter. Maybe lesion needs scraping and look at it in the microscope. If no improvement consider different diagnosis or dermatology visit.

Redness fading: As ringworm gets better the scaling and the redness will start to fade. After the area has healed you may have an area of skin that is lighter in color then your normal skin. This is called post inflammatory hypopigmentation and will disappear with time.
