Vitamin E: Will not help ringworm of the scalp.

No.: No, vitamin e has no effect on ringworm. But first, make sure that it really is ringworm; many circular rashes are assumed to be ringworm by inexperienced caregivers. If it really is ringworm, you will need a prescription medicine. Make sure your doctor gives you an oral treatment - creams and lotions won't get the job done by themselves when it's on the scalp.

Won't fix it: When the scalp is invaded by the germ of ringworm it gets into the root system of the hair, far too deep for superficial creams, lotions or vitamin E to help. See your doc for proper diagnosis. This commonly takes a month or more of prescription oral anti-fungal meds.
