Most nodules benign: Thyroid nodules are often detected incidentally when a patient has neck us.Nodules may range in size from several mm to several cm. With frequency of ultrasounds obtained, incidental thyroid nodules are frequently found.Us can describe nodules and sometimes infer likelihood of benign vs malig.Biopsy most accurate with some specialists advocating biopsy of nodules greater than 1cm others 1.5 cm.
