Contact allergy: You might have contacted something you are allergic to. The shape of the rash may provide hint as to what the source is. For example, would a band or something you held in that hand within the past 72 hrs be the culprit?

Rash: Without seeing it and knowing more history, it's hard to tell. The description and the area involved makes me think scabies, but that's by no means is the final answer. A picture would help.
