Find another doc?: Seriously, there are several other things to do, i don't know why your doc would say otherwise. Often a second med is added to treat the voices, either an atypical neuroleptic or another mood stabilizer. If depression is the main problem, an antidepressant (or lamictal, a mood stabilizer especially good for depression) is sometimes added. Bottom line: you needs a medication re-evaluation.

Ad to the lithium: On lithium, sounds like bipolar. Recent research shows that adding a n antidepressant is a mistake! howver adding Lamictal uptitrated slowly, or adding one of the atrypical antipsychotics can be helpful (i.e.: abilify, latuda, (lurasidone) seroqul or olanzapine).
