A member asked:

I have a breast abcess , with no head, that has drained thru another abcess on my breast.. do i still have to have it lanced since t doesn't have head?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Breast specialist: A breast abscess is best managed by a qualified breast surgeon. It has the potential to cause great damage if not appropriately drained and treated. It is unusual for an abscess to respond to antibiotics alone, without drainage. You have the best chance of being able to continue to breastfeed if you get this taken care of properly. Good luck!
