Mutually: Contradictory. Positive pregnancy test depends on blood levels of 25 or higher for hcg. If a woman is pregnant her HCG level will go up.

HCG: A women's levels and a babies levels are two different things. If a woman is pregnant, then regardless of her personal levels, the HCG should be higher than one would expect if that woman was not pregnant.
