Depends: Was there prior traumatic injury (a fall, car accident, etc)? If so, your jaw may have sustained a fracture and healed with poor alignment and may need surgical repair. See a dentist who is capable of TMJ evaluation/treatment to evaluate and determine a treatment specific for your problem.
