Emergency Room: In the ED, infection that has spread to the blood stream can be ruled out and the pain can be treated. Some may even have a dentist on call.

Acute infection: Tooth probably abscessed. ER or Urgent Care, if they don't have a Dentist on call, can provide you with antibiotics and pain killers to support you until you can get to a Dentist, Dental Clinic, or Dental School for definitive treatment. Don't wait to call. When pills wear off infection symptoms will come roaring back. You need to see a Dentist NOW.

NSAIDs-Tylenol OTC: and see a dentist in the morning. Most dentists leave some slots in their daily schedules to accommodate dental emergencies. ER is medical emergencies not dental therefore, it will not be worth wasting your time and money.
