why do i start sneezing and have watery eyes when i have an allergic reaction?

Defense: An allergic reaction is your body's attempt to clear itself of particles or substances which it percieves (sometimes inaccurately) to be a threat. Sneezing clears allergens from the nose and watery eyes flushes them away from the surface of the eye.
