Yes possible: Ca 19-9 production is related to chromosome 19 , when lewis antigen system is absent that is related to a b o blood groups will not see ca 19-9 , this tumor marker may not get elevated even in presence of large GI related tumor ( false negative ) , or elevated with out tumor 9 false positive ).
