Why didnt pathologist review of peripheral smear dont tell me a diagnosis doesnt it show if i have blood cancer or not ? it just tellls me i have high platelets n examples what it can be wouldnt the test show what it causing the high platelets?

While the perpheral smear may show large amounts of platelets, even clumps, the platelet count in the cbc&diff has to exceed 400,000 in order to diagnose thrombocytosis. However, the smear doesn't tell you much more than this.
