Two weeks: Typically she should wear the splint for two weeks--including during gym. If pain and swelling improves and her followup exam is normal then typically she can remove splint and resume normal activity. If symptoms persist she will need to be immobilized longer and may need repeat x-rays to rule out a hairline fracture.
