Immune function: They are a sign that your immune system is healthy, reactive, and doing its job. I imagine you are very healthy and thin. Teenagers often can feel their lymph nodes. As humans we often do not realize how many bugs we are exposed to on a daily basis. I would get that you are just fine. Your immune system is doing its job correctly.

Hard to say...: There are numerous possible causes for enlarged lymph nodes including infection, chronic inflammatory states, lymphoma, other types of cancer. Ultimately, a biopsy is needed in order to provide a definitive diagnosis.
