Cystectomy: This is the main treatment for muscle invasive bladder cancer. Although a hard operation for patients, best chance for cure. Sometimes you need chemo first.....Advised to go to an experienced surgeon who does lots of these procedures....

Many: Have known many patients, as well as one close relative, with great success following cystectomy, plus either an ileal or colon conduit with urinary stoma or an intestinal neo-bladder. Success depends firstly on whether cancer has spread through or beyond bladder as well as how aggressive the cancer. Some patients benefit from adjunctive radiation and/or chemotherapy.

I do not do this: Procedure, and see patients that cannot medically get cystectomy, but it works very well, and people adjust to the urinary diversion procedures. If there is muscle nvasive disease, see a team that does this work frequently.
