Which one came first: Usually seroquel (quetiapine) is used to treat mood disorder. It is effective for major depression mostly as xr form, but as you know, no medication works for every body. The most important thing for you is to see a psychiatrist get full evaluation to determine proper diagnosis and treatment. All the best.
