Adjustment: The younger the child gets implanted, the easier it is to adjust, young kids brains are still "learning" to hear if you will and therefore exploring making noise and acquiring language. Older kids have to re-learn many concepts but at the end of the day it is a great technology and a unique opportunity to see and hear the world a different way if you are hearing impaired.
