Ask pediatrician: Often just have a viral upper respiratory tract infection like the common cold, and do not require treatment. Uris are reported to be 20-200 times more common than true bacterial sinus infection. Uris do not respond to antibiotics. If truely bacterial sinus infection may image sinuses or be on prolonged antibiotic therapy. Allergies can also contribute to sinus congestion.
