Heel pain: There are many possible causes of heel pain. A common cause of pain on the bottom of the heel is plantar fasciitis. Pain to the back of the heel may be caused by Achilles tendinitis. See your doctor for proper evaluation and treatment, especially if you have a history of an injury or if your pain is limiting your ability to walk normally. An x-ray of your heel may be taken.
