Scaphoid fractures typically occur by falling on an outstretched hand so hitting the heel with great force is a similar injury. The only way to know for sure if the scaphoid is fractured is to get an x-ray, which can be obtained in urgent care. You can also get an order from your primary care provider to get the x-ray at a radiology site. If it is fractured, see a hand surgeon or orthopedics.
