I hit the heel of my hand (w/great force) on the sharp edge of a door frame 5 days ago. i'm concerned about a possible scaphoid fracture. bruised, no swelling. minor, ongoing pain w/applied pressure & achy numbness in arm. should i see a doctor?

Scaphoid fractures typically occur by falling on an outstretched hand so hitting the heel with great force is a similar injury. The only way to know for sure if the scaphoid is fractured is to get an x-ray, which can be obtained in urgent care. You can also get an order from your primary care provider to get the x-ray at a radiology site. If it is fractured, see a hand surgeon or orthopedics.
