Many things: Could be unrelated, or maybe you developed or are developing an inclusion cyst, or slow growing abcess, maybe sustained nerve injury. Go to the foot doc and have it checked out.

Foreign body: It is possible that some of the upper layers of skin were forced into the sub-cutaneous tissue causing a foreign body reaction, or a granuloma. It is also possible that some of the tissues that were punctured have formed scar tissue that is painful to walk on.
