Duplex US or CTA: The usual test for diagnosis of lower or upper extremity venous blood clots (DVT) is duplex Ultra sound (US). The usual test for diagnosis venous blood clot in chest, abdomen or brain is CT angiogram. There are some other tests such as VQ scan for diagnosis of pulmonary embolism
