Bronchitis: In general, bronchitis can first be addressed by over the counter measures. Cough specific syrups or tablets are readily available. Decongestant medicines can help if the cough is related to sinus drainage. Giving the bronchitis ample time to clear is advisable as it can last 10-20 days. Follow with a doctor if symptoms worsen or last longer than 3 weeks.
