There are multiple : Reasons why they may not be letting him eat or drink, ranging from pre-op issues, post abdominal surgery, swallowing difficulty, pancreatic issues, bowel problems such as blockages, etc. It can make it difficult stay, but this is always for patient safety. I hope your father gets well soon!
