A member asked:

If i'm awake, but probably calmed from the sedation, will i still feel pain from the pain relief or will they add some anesthetics via the iv during surgery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You will be fine: Depending on what surgical procedure you are having and the type of sedatives and analgesics you are having, when having surgery under local anesthesia with IV sedation, you are sleepy but arp usable but the local anesthetic injected keeps you comfortable and usually some of the IV agents that the anesthesiologist uses, you are amnestic of intra operative events. He/she can control this by agents.
