Lump on anus: Difficult to tell without looking. However, the most comman lumps around the anus are usually painful and consist of either a thrombosed or clotted external hemorrhoid or a perianal abscess. Ice pack alternating with warm tub soaks several times each evening over the next 72 hours will usually help a thrombosed hemorrhoid to resolve. A perianal abscess usally needs drainage.
