A member asked:

Is there any way i can at least lower my vision to 20/80 or something without lasik?

Refraction: The standard way to improve most vision is for the eye doctor to refract (determine the best corrective lens powers) the eyes and prescribe corrective lenses. If the reason for your lowered vision is an eyeglass need only, then you can improve the vision. If there is disease of the eye lowering vision, then no lenses will help.

Alternative to LASIK: While lasik is a very effective treatment, there are many other procedures that can help improve a patient's vision. For example - a phakic iol is a useful procedure for very nearsighted patents that can lead to excellent visual results. Other procedures include clear lens extraction for hyperopic/presbyopic patients. Please speak with your own doctor, and good luck.
