Depends: ... On what you mean by "corrected." lasik can help correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. At age 48, your need for reading glasses will not be "corrected" by lasik. That is caused by presbyopia, a loss of focusing power of the lens of the eye that usually occurs during the mid 40s.
