Patellar tendon: If you are 34 and active athletically i prefer autologous patellar tendon graft(using your own kneecap tendon). Older individuals w/ instability symptoms after an acl tear --- prefer allograft. Some surgeons will offer a hamstring ( quad. Looped) for your case. I still believe endoscopic acl reconstruction w/ your own patellar tendon gives the best results long term. Discuss w/ surgeon. Good luck!
