ACLRecon Indication: An acl attached to PCL by scar is not anatomic, but in some patients, it affords enough stability to be functional for them. For high level, direction change sports (e.g., basketball, soccer), this level of acl function may not be adequate to avoid shifting. It is important to quantify all other issues with the knee (e.g., meniscus and articular cartiage); discuss long term goals with your surgeon.

Usually: Acl will generally scar down to the pcl. The need for surgery is based on stability, other injuries, lifestyle.
