Depends: If you initially treated this with appropriate rest and rehab, 4 months should be near optimal healing time. If you are not having any problems with it, no further treatment is indicated. If you are still having significant problems with it, surgery may be indicated. In that case, not having surgery may result in worsening problems with further aging. Surgery may not fix everything.
