Several ways: Change his body position from lying on his back, to his side, and to his stomach; to decrease risk of loss of muscle tone tell him to avoid alcohol, muscle relaxants, sleeping pills prior to bedtime; to improve his nasal breathing have him use breathe right strips, oral decongestants, and otc nasal decongestants (use for 5 days max). He should then see an ENT specialist for a full evaluation.
