Steroid injections: Too many steroid injections can weaken the tissues and once this occurs, the damage is done. Tendons have been known to rupture after too many cortisone shots. The main treatment is to avoid any future steroid shots or placing of undue stress on the elbow. An orthopedic specialist can advise you further.
