A member asked:

Tennis elbow confirmed after examination. no scans. 4 cortisone injections in two years.last two made pain worst.suggested surgery. what should i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Surgery should be: The very last thing tried. Make sure your physical medicine doctor has put you on a full course of progressive eccentric exercise. Nitrous oxide patches applied directly over the affected common extensor and changed every 24 hours can be a very helpful adjunct to physical therapy. If this fails (and it works most of the time) consider ultrasound guided needle tenotomy of affected areas.
