Perhaps: There can be pain after any dental procedure. Pain should diminish wit time. If pain is not diminishing, return to the dentist or endodontist who performed the root canal treatment for reevaluation.

Can happen: It really depends on the amount and duration of pain. A little discomfort for a few days is fairly common but severe post-op pain will require an evaluation from the treating dentist. If Ibuprofen or tylenol (acetaminophen) are managing it and it is getting better over time it may just be normal post-op discomfort.

Yes: Depending upon the time frame, the tooth may be sore for a few days or weeks. If the tooth is hitting too much when your upper and lower teeth touch, the dentist/root canal specialist should smooth down so it is out of occlusion (bite.) if the pain continues, get back to the dr. And have it checked- could have a fractured root, infection, etc.

Yes.. but: It is not uncommon and should subside with time. If not, call your dentist to have the tooth evaluated.

Yes: Yes, you can be sore for a day or two, but it should improve without problem. If you are having severe pain or discomfort you should contact your dentist.
