Just diagnosed with chiari malformation 1 after mri. is surgery always necessary? i have no symptoms other than posttussive headaches.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: If your MRI of your cervical and thoracic spine did not show a syrinx and your neurologic exam is normal, then you can certainly monitor it and see how you do. Good luck.
