White sores on gums: What you are describing is probably called canker sore (not cancer), and have numerous causes. Canker sores are not dangerous but annoying. You may be sensitive to foods, toothpaste, mouthwash or a number of other things. Start recording what you eat every day and what you put into your mouth. Look for a relationship to the gum sores and something you are doing. Change toothpaste helps some.
