Dryness: There are BP meds that can affect the throat, making them feel dry. The Alpha blockers like Clonidine do that. Discuss with your doctor, i'm sure he will understand and make the necessary changes.

Swallowing: you are describing a swallowing disorder. Pills are sticking; food is sticking; it is possible this difficulty occurs only with solid materials; an evaluation is needed.
