A member asked:

Eating or drinking anything, as well as moving causes bubbles of gas to move up my throat, however i can only 'gurgle, ' not burp. what causes this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe GERD: Gerd can present with your symptoms. Stomach stuff (whether acid or not) regurgitates back up--due to inappropriate relaxation of lower esophageal sphincter, impaired esophageal function (peristalsis), inadequate saliva, gastric outlet narrowing, gastroparesis, small bowel pathology, etc. Damage to esophagus may result if untreated. Check the other healthtap answers on gerd for tips on management.
