Many possibilities: There are many causes for a lump in the throat or a lump in the neck; while many of these lumps are not an indication of anything serious, some lumps can be an indication of a serious medical condition. A thorough evaluation and examination by a board-certified otolaryngologist would be advisable for any lump that lasts for more than a few weeks.
