More permeable thus: Leaky gut syndrome is increased permeability of the intestinal lining which allows toxins ; undigested food to cross into our bloodstream leading to a variety of symptoms. It is often caused by antibiotics ; other pharmaceuticals ; is a surprisingly common underlying cause of many chronic illnesses.
